Deploying to Telegram

Connecting a boo to Telegram is optional and takes a couple of clicks — no servers or bot SDKs required. Boobot handles the hosting.

1. Create a bot in BotFather

Open @BotFather in Telegram and send:

/newbot

Follow its prompts to name your bot and choose a username. BotFather replies with a username and a token.

2. Paste them into your boo

In your boo's edit page, open the Telegram Bot section and paste:

  • Bot Username — the username BotFather gave you
  • Bot Token — the token BotFather gave you

Save the boo. Your bot goes live on Telegram immediately, powered by that boo's personality, voice, and images.

Notes

  • The Telegram bot is optional — a boo works fully in the Boobot web app with no bot connected.
  • Anyone who messages your bot on Telegram chats with your boo directly.
